Am i Candidate for Epi-LASIK

If you have thin corneas and are not a candidate for laser-assisted in situ keratomileusis, or LASIK (a corneal refractive procedure that requires the creation of a partial-thickness flap before the cornea is sculpted with a laser), Epithelial Laser In Situ Keratomileusis (Epi-LASIK) may be a good option for you.

LASEK may be a good choice if you:

    • Want to reduce or eliminate your dependency on glasses or contacts
    • Are at least 18 years of age, with stable vision for at least one year
    • Have healthy eyes with no sign of glaucoma or cataracts
    • Have thinner than average corneas
    • Have had previous eye surgery such as RK (Radial Keratotomy)
    • Are involved in contact sports (boxing, sky diving)
    • Have a job that may involve eye injury (law enforcement, professional athlete)
